Advent Celebration – “Hanging of the Greens”: Advent begins the Christian year with the celebration of Christ’s first and second comings. The unending circle of the wreath reminds us of Jesus’ divinity, his sacrifice, and his unending love. The evergreens point to Christ’s gift of life to us, now and forever. The candles set forth the contrast between the darkness of separation and exile with the light of restoration and hope.
Lunch Bunch: A senior adult fellowship that meets the second Friday of each month at 11:45 am at a local restaurant to enjoy the cuisine and good conversation.
Women’s Ministries: Building relationships through various opportunities such as Bible Studies and retreats. Our Women’s Bible Study group meets every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Education Building, located behind the sanctuary on Second Street.
Conferences and Retreats: Our youth participate in both the spring and fall retreats for middle school and senior high students that are held on the Bonclarken assembly grounds of the denomination. In addition, there are several camps and conferences held at Bonclarken for all ages during the year and we encourage participation. Retreats, camps and conferences are advertised on bulletin boards in the education building, in our newsletter and Sunday bulletin.
Bonclarken Cottage: The J.R. Young family gave their cottage located on the grounds of the Bonclarken Assembly grounds to the church many years ago. Young Memorial maintains the cottage whose primary use is for delegates and members attending Bonclarken conferences and events. It also is available for rent for family gatherings and small group retreats. Contact Linda Seeger in the church office for information or to make a reservation.
